07 Nov “Party in Panama” 🇵🇦 FWSA 2016
I was so excited to attend the “Party in Panama” fashion show. It was definitely very different but I love different. The designers are two sisters from Panama, Annie y Farrah Chajín, whom I also had the pleasure of meeting.
The fashion show was more the style of an art exhibition show. The models stood in place for most of the fashion show and we were able to walk up to them and see each piece up close and personal. I loved that it was a more intimate show but also with a fun party vibe! I also liked being so close to the models and actually being able to see all the fabrics and jewelry. I fell in love with their designs and will definitely be getting a few pieces for myself.
When I first saw their designs it reminded me of my grandmother. For some reason it just hit home. Being a Latina is such a beautiful thing and I’m so proud of my ethnicity and my roots. I can see that the Chajín sisters are too. As they have translated their colorful ethnic styles into one of a kind exotic handmade jewelry line and lifestyle brand. One of their quotes which I love is “El gusto por la moda lo heredamos de nuestra abuela” which means “We inherited our love for fashion from our grandmother.”
Here are a few of my favorite styles. Photo credits to Adrian Espinoza catch more of his work on Instagram @AME2CREATES
