05 Dec A Tulle Skirt Is Always A Good Idea
I loved everything about it…it’s like it screamed to me as I was browsing the racks the other day thinking about what I wanted to wear for this photo session I was about to have! It said “Anna, you need this in your closet!”
Tulle though? Isn’t it something my daughter would wear?! Why yes, yes it is something my Layla would wear and wears all the time BUT it’s also something a grown woman, a mother of three could wear and pull it off. It’s feminine yet retro, girly yet incredibly chic and my outfits or life shouldn’t always be taken so seriously!
So I bought “The Tulle Skirt” and paired it with an off the shoulder body suit from Forever XXI, a floppy grey hat also from there, black velvet -mid calf boots from Charlotte Russe and a black fringe purse from Sam Moon. I love how the whole outfit I envisioned came together. Of course it all was brought together by the “tulle skirt.” I felt all of the above…feminine, retro, girly, chic, 15 again yet still sassy and sexy. For me, picking the right staple pieces are key to making an outfit come together.
The bodysuit is black and chic, showing some shoulders gives just the right amount of sass and class! Choosing the right length for a tulle skirt I think is also very important. I wouldn’t choose a mini-tulle skirt 1. because I’m a mom of three 2. because Layla would snag it from my closet OK and 3. because I’m tall and a mini-tulle skirt would probably just ride up and with the right gush of wind it wouldn’t be good! So yes I believe choosing the right length is crucial. I went with a midi tulle skirt.
The velvet black boots I’ve had for years and I’m so glad I held on to them because if you haven’t already noticed…velvet everything is back in style! #winning Floppy hats are a great way to accessorize any outfit and I love them more especially during the winter. My fringe purse I’ve also had for a few years, another great item to have, fringe is still in ladies!
